Effective ways to kill lice
? Use a nit comb- Nit combs are handy tools which are designed to comb out eggs and dead lice from the hair. Divide the hair into segments and start combing from the scalp to the root. Put the comb in warm, soapy water as this will kill the lice and the eggs. After every use, sanitize the comb by putting it in hot water.
? Choose a head lice treatment- If you are looking for the quickest way to kill head lice, try using pediculicide. These are formulated to destroy both the eggs and the lies. Use Permethrin 1% creme rinse or Pyrethrins 0.33% shampoo for the best results. You can also use a prescribed one like benzyl alcohol 5% lotion (Ulesfia), Ivermectin 0.5% topical lotion (Sklice), Malathion 0.5% lotion (Ovide) or spinosad 0.9%.
? Oil treatment- You may also find natural treatments that can combat the head lice. If you are sensitive to chemical substances, neem or coconut oil is worth trying. Apply coconut or neem oil in your hair and gently massage your scalp. Next, use a nit comb to pull out the lice.
